Applications of aluminum hydroxide in the Rubber Compounds

Fine Aluminum hydroxide has three major functions: flame retardancy, smoke suppression, and filling. It has no secondary pollution during combustion. It has good dispersion in polymers and can easily produce flame retardant synergistic effects with other additives. It can be widely used for unsaturated Polyester, epoxy resin, thermoplastic, synthetic rubber, composite materials, and other products.

In rubber, aluminum hydroxide can be used not only as a flame retardant but also as a reinforcing agent for latex foam rubber of styrene-butadiene rubber and a rubber adhesive for the floorings, as well as neoprene for paving.

In addition, aluminum hydroxide also plays an important role in improving the tracking resistance of silicone rubber.
